NPC LOVE Part 2

The past few days have been terrible.  The love of my life was erased from existence right before my eyes, and I can’t do anything but sit here in my thoughts.  This curse is terrible, certainly you can help me!

“Welcome back adventurer!  The village owes you many thanks for defeating the Dark Lords captain.  Please take this magical item as reward!”  Ahhh!

“Mom!  Are my pop-tarts ready?”  Okay, first, I’m not your mother, and what?

“Even with the defeat of the evil captain, darkness continues to grow.  To complete our defenses, we need 60 bear pelts.”  Damnit curse!

“No, mom, I can’t pause the game!  It’s online!”

I don’t understand what you’re saying.  Great, now he’s gone… Wait, another adventurer is coming, this time I will speak!

IT CAN’T BE!  That can’t be her, she died days ago!  The ashen hair, the blood-stained armor, and the angel like walk.  My love is alive, and she has returned to me!  Tartus, you can do this, tell her how you feel.  Simply break this curse and proclaim your love.

“The Dark Lords captain still lurks outside the village with his army.  Once you defeat him, Silvershire will be one step closer to being safe.”  What do I have to do to break this curse!

“Share the quest with Tastethepainbow16.”  Her voice, so amazing…wait who?

“I’ll be right there, just logging into the game.”  Where did that voice come from?  Are you the demon that cursed me?

“Troubling news shadows our fortune.  The Dark Lord’s captain has been seen with a small army on the outskirts of the village.”  A dark elf hunter?  I bet you placed this curse on me.

“Quest accepted.  Hey babe, check out this new dance I got.”

Now you mock me by dancing in my face?  Once I break this curse I will send the guards after you!  We will see if you dance in the dungeon!

My threat falls on deaf ears as my love and that so-called adventurer leave to accomplish their bounty.

Before long, the two returned, the smile on her face radiating kindness upon everyone.  Even next to that monster of an adventurer, my love still looks stunning.  I have waited long enough with this curse, I am positive it has run its course, here we go.

“Welcome back adventurer!  The village owes you many thanks for defeating the Dark Lords captain.  Please take this magical item as reward!”

No!  I didn’t want to give him a reward too!  Enough is enough!  Now is my chance, deep breathe.  I must focus on my goal and the outcome will be to my liking.

“Even with the defeat of the evil captain, darkness continues to grow.  To complete our defenses, we need 60 bear pelts.”  I am dead, this is hell.

“Another grind quest?  Forget that, I’m going over to Shadowmire, the new DLC dropped today.”  The dark elf laughed in my face as he rejected my plea.

With those poisonous words, my one and only love left.  Stories tell that Shadowmire merchants carry wonderous riches and rewards, and that those who travel there have no need to return.
